Anderson Reading Clinic
The Appalachian State Anderson Reading Clinic provides direct service to children with reading problems and remains the only university-based clinic in North Carolina that offers year-round teacher training, along with diagnostic and remedial reading services to children in the community.
AppHealthCare
AppHealthCare offers Clinical Services on a sliding fee scale based on income for anyone, regardless of ability to pay. We also gladly accept Medicaid, Medicare, and private insurance. AppHealthCare provides primary care for children & adults, screenings, immunizations, maternal health, case management, outreach, behavioral health, communicable disease, family planning, well-child services, preventive dental, 340B pharmacy program, women, infants, and children program (WIC), breast and cervical cancer control program (BCCCP), transportation, and diagnostic laboratory and radiology.

Counseling and Psychological Services
The Counseling and Psychological Services Center supports the mission of Appalachian State University and the Division of Student Affairs in the academic, vocational, emotional, social and cultural development of students. The goal of the Counseling Center is to assist the University community in maximizing the personal growth and development of its members. Services are primarily offered to students and focus on education, prevention, remediation, and crisis management.

Western Youth Network
Western Youth Network is working to eliminate Adverse Childhood Experiences and their consequences by intervening in the root causes of trauma and advocating for trauma-informed policies and practices in North Carolina’s Appalachia region. WYN currently manages five initiatives to realize its vision of a trauma-free community: mentoring, after-school, summer camp, high school success, and substance abuse prevention.
